Biography
Dr. Badr is a leading, national expert in pulmonary medicine and sleep disorders. He is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Sleep Medicine and Internal Medicine. He graduated from Damascus University Medical School in Syria and completed his internship and residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Following two fellowships at the University of Wisconsin, he was appointed to the school’s faculty. Since 1996, he has served as Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Wayne State University and in many teaching and faculty positions at the school. He currently serves as Chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Harper University Hospital and as a Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Badr has been the principal investigator on many grant-funded research efforts and clinical trials. He holds several patents for biomedical devices.
